why does Trump literally make people go insane?

even in his Bush era, it was just some lighthearted jabs here and there, but now it's like his brain short-circuited, and he became an MSNBC monologue machine in a suit. i'm not even like judgemental, feel sorry for what happened to him, i can't figure out the psychological mechanism behind all of that.
