The white people in Little Rock lost it and formed daily mobs of thousands just to stop nine Black students from simply attending school. The students were threatened, spat on, and blocked from entering even though the school board had already voted to desegregate that year. The 101st Airborne was called in to protect the students because the governor was openly defying the courts, and the National Guard couldn't be trusted. What you posted is just a picture of the Airborne doing basic crowd control to keep nine Black kids from being lynched for trying to learn. The white students didn’t have to interact with them.
