Most people that are into the occult know all the same essential texts. I started off interested in the Ars Goetia/Key of Solomon first (I personally think that one is kinda bleh and too many black magicians hype it up as the best, but the more advanced practicioners look for much deeper and obscure stuff.) I went from the Key of Solomon to finding out about Abramelin, but never really understood how to use the squares. So I became more focused on angelwork/Lilith/Lucifer, and once even looked into the guardian angel associated with my zodiac sign.
