Anonette, you're not going to really find anything on here regarding good advice these days unless you get particularly lucky. /x/ had a brief renaissance during Covid but has since dried out sadly. Your best bet is to lurk and pop in when an oasis springs up. Which will always be in the threads you least expect.

Fundamentally, the only way you'll find out is through self-study, interaction with other novices in the actual real world, and meditation. I'd heavily avoid discord or other direct interactions online as this thread heavily proves. I've only heard virginity works if maintained as a point of monk-like or nun-like focus. Yet it's only as another path just as valid path that can be taken. I'm heavily a novice as well and as far as I can tell, a lot of magical study is fairly mundane and "boring" if you're smart about it.

If you're only reading about and learning that only guys can be magic users. You'll need to push far deeper for expanding your knowledge. The earliest civilizations at their beginnings (Egypt, Sumer) were matriarchal societies with heavy emphasis on Priestesses. The best advice I can give for expanding that knowledge is beginning with how the relationship early civilizations had with magic. I'll add a bit more and another image that helps me in the next post.
