My mind lept immediately to the Black Spiral Dancers from the Werewolf RPG. The spiral dance is a ritual dance by which werewolves undergo progressively harrowing physical and mental ordeal and attain an evil awakening at the end of it and become Black Spiral Dancers regardless of the clan they originated from.
