Because the widespread liberal claim of wanting to "fix Earth problems before going to space" is just a facade for their real motive which is to prevent the export of ideologies they dislike. Libtards were all for manned space exploration until SpaceX and big bad Elon actually became serious about pursuing that goal and suddenly they switched to the anti-space side. The underlying truth is that liberal ideology is incompatible with space exploration and that ideology will remain terrestrial.
