It's the little "sold" sign that makes it. This is some kind of slavery; they're going to be bought and sold and shipped out to who knows where. If their luck holds out they won't even get sent to the same place. Imagine one of them getting her sign and her head taped up completely, her eyes vanishing as some worker wraps up her face. Imagine the desperate eye contact between her and her friend being cut off as she's blindfolded. It's the last time they'll ever see eachother.
Peak bad end. These two are so, so good for this.
