you can definitely live without them for now
although I would highly recommend you get it at some point they will make your run way smoother for later campaigns
I don't know how are they going to accelerate the schedule but there won't be anything good coming out in 2 years
you should have farmed enough resources for a few gacha and get at least a SC during pickup banner

FM got powercreep in exactly 2 years by the card shown in picture
SC is still meta relevant after 4+ years
