google as a search engine is already an abomination, unlike how omnipotent it was just a few years before. that changes nothing.
however, people are getting too reliant on ai, and likely intentionally we are moving to this direction further as far as I can see. I mean, already the case is that only a very few people are capable of digging through numerous results, identifying and shifting through crap to finalise a verdict on something, and already a great majority of people like the tech illiterate new gens and boomers are barely capable of checking for multiple sources on something, now all that need for research is getting channeled into ai and into it's streamlined and easily controlled answers. my 0,7 turkish liras on the matter is that its pretty grim.
