When and if you actually start to take Pokrovsk itself, they'll have 6 months to a year to build those fortifications.

Nothing is going to happen "quickly" because Russians are mostly advancing on foot.
Even if Ukrainian defenses cease to exist TODAY, they'd advance at basically walking speed.
