Living paycheck to paycheck.
Have enough money in the bank account to cover a month or two's rent, but no real savings.
Housing takes half my paycheck, maintenance on a 20 year old car i cant afford to replace takes up big portion of the remainder.
Pulling 2 jobs as it is, both skilled work, volunteer for as much overtime, on call, and field work as possible, end up making under 35k$/year after taxes.
No way to make any extra money, i'm not in debt but i'm not saving anything. Bank account just sits at the same float. Money goes in, money goes out.
I've never been able to go on any kind of overseas trip in my life, meanwhile my parents have gone on 5-7 cruises and trips to Europe in the last year. They go so frequently i've lost track.
My only vacation this year was sleeping in the trunk of my car at an abandoned sand quarry (picrel).
