Legit question for you all:
Why do we keep the mentally disabled? I mean the ones that can't cook, can't clean, can't bathe, can't do anything on their own without another human? They go to a school for their disabilities that is doing nothing to help them. They can barely function in life, but with animals, if its leg is broken, we shoot it dead. So why keep humans if they serve no function or purpose to life? And I don't mean neckbeards, I don't mean people living in poverty, I mean people who literally have the mind of a cockatiel.

I've seen then for years yet for some reason we keep them around. Why can't we put them down? Why do people empathize with and for the retarded?
