The more I read, the more I realized Sasuke is barely a character in his own flashback. His backstory is pretty much wanting the approval of the adults. Anko can pretty much teach him snake magic without Orochimaru, bond over their bloodlust, but my problem with Sasuke is he has to be beaten by his brother and sound ninjas who tell him Orochimaru doesn't care.
