This is the more interesting rocks in my opinion and I know them all.

From left to right we have carborandite carborundum, also known as silicon carbide. Very brittle, hard and sharp.

Next is iron pyrite with a bit of quartz contamination. I had to rinse it to get rid of some dust and Ruri was right, it STINKS of iron.

In the middle is orange calcite, also known as calcium carbonate. Very pretty and smooth.

Next is a BIG old piece of quartz. it's actually pretty clear near the tip of the big central piece.

Second to the right is fibrous white gypsum. or calcium sulphate. Odd little mineral, you never know what it's thinking...

And finally is my favorite, a nice little piece of amethyst, the only thing that's really close to a precious stone in my collection. The rest are just semi-precious.
