Trees are good at converting.
Photons into energy to grind up root minerals and elements from the ground upwards, like a little drilling machine, combined with a liquid to make energy. Be it berries, flowers, veggies, bark, molasses, sap, green leaves.
And other variants of chemicals in the same environment, meaning you have have elements in the form of solids in nutrients in the ground, as well as the gas state of chemicals in the air being converted, aka, hydrogen dioxide into oxygen, which normally takes a solar mass conversion to occur (Population 3 stars of mostly only hydrogen gas and some helium gas, then converting into into population 2 stars of heavier more complex elements, and then our star, the sun with very complex heavy metals).
Trees/Plants are so good at providing so many required steps upon the ladder of the stellar climb that it seems more likely for mobile trees to have evolved than meat life. Trees have veins with blood. Organs. Sex organs. Reproduction.
That being said, here we are, and here the trees are.
But, they should be on every world.
