Part of me is convinced that Teri at one point was lined up to be Darwin’s girlfriend but was passed up by Carrie.
But my evidence amounts to basically two things:
>Darwin abuses her at least once per season since season 2, and in some way that’s some sort of leftover being recycled or maybe even explored
>teri, much like penny, has the same voice actor as Nicole, and I think Ben was really looking forward to getting the double whammy on that
Unfortunately I think there are more grounds on the second point than the first.
