Why does he always say "Traditional Catholic" instead of just Catholic? Traditional is a somewhat arbitrary stake in the ground to place for a 2000 year old faith that's had a number of changes over time, especially when he's referring to Jesuits who at the time were an extremely new monastic order and smack dab at the forefront of the Catholic/Counter Reformation. The whole "nukes were a plot to kill Catholics" thing makes no sense either given the existing Japanese government was already pushing statist Shinto as a religion compared to the occupational governments free worship and the efforts to not destroy anything of cultural or religious value if possible while invading Italy (compared to the cultural genocide Alies inflicted on Germany and deliberate destruction of historic sites like Konigsberg Castle out of spite)
