Here's a shot of the main building of Honmiya. The shrine area of Honmiya has much more buildings, and it was much more popular among visitors. It felt like it was mostly filled with the energy of the various people...untill something special happened. I witnessed some kind of prayer ceremony being conducted. They did it at the main building, and you could see it really well. The priest read a prayer, made offerings, and then took hold of a golden gohei. It was a magical moment, like seeing someone pull out the Excalibur or something. He shook it, and it made a really loud bell-like noise, maybe it had bells attached to it too. It felt like the spiritual equivalent of opening the window in a room with stale air. A really magical moment to witness.
