the goal is to neuter Ukraine as a country that could pose a threat to Russia. Part of that goal is to bleed Ukraine of manpower and the West of munitions. The best place to destroy both men and materiel is by drawing them to the fortified lines in Eastern Ukraine and then targeting those concentrations with UMPK FABs and artillery, to which Ukraine has no counter.
