Contemporary Korean popular culture simultaneously devalues and overvalues sex, at the expense of family life. In a way it is no one person's fault. However, neither is it a "collective decision." The sexualization of K-pop was deliberately and, at times, ruthlessly imposed on ordinary Korean men and women by elites. As G.K. Chesterton pointed out, the arrival of a "free love" culture is often a prelude to slavery.
