The lie isn't Evolution, it's the erasure/denial of Devolution. Because, if we understand that devolution occurs at the same frequency, then what we have to conclude is that Continuous Evolution can only occur reliably if there are always multiple versions of a given species that inevitably take unequal trajectories, and that the evolved versions replace the devolved versions again and again for millions of years.
