Frankly I think part of it is domestic politics because the Israeli Druze are furious. They began breaching the border to go into Syria to handle business on their own. It's said 1000~ Druze overpowered the IDF on the Golan/Syria border fence and headed in. These people had family members being killed, like their cousins and uncles texting them "they're outside the house" and then not hearing anything since.

Israel wants to keep these people on their side, although I think Israel probably does want to cultivate the Druze in Syria as allies and proxies inside Syria. But the Druze are Arabs. It's not like they're just going to sit there, they'll head out to shed blood because it's loyalty to blood.
