For real though, JD Vance has the opportunity here for a pro-gamer move:

He should come out in defense of the tourist and demand an investigation into the case. He literally can't lose because either-
A) It turns out to be a complete hoax, making MSNBC look like fools, or
B) It turns out to be true, in which case Vance will have shown great commitment to free speech, even when it's used to mock his appearance.

He comes out looking good in either scenario.
