Seriously considering keto, as in true keto not to sound like a purist but basically 75-80% fat rest protein and trace carbs. I am 200 lbs overweight, pre-diabetic with NAFLD. I need to drop weight fast and I believe eliminating carbs will help stabilize my blood sugar and normalize my hunger. I don't think carbs are the devil, in fact populations that eat high carb, low fat live the longest and are very healthy. It's just that I am super fucking fat, and my blood sugar control is crap. I'll eat a big meal with mixed macros, just like every meal most people eat is, and fill up but still be hungry. It's a gnawing hunger that pisses me off. I want to do it pretty strict too, around 2000-2500 kcal a day, OMAD. I've seen some people some serious weight on keto being largely sedentary. Those who kept at it for more than a couple of months and do it with lots of walking I've seen drop like 150-200 lbs in 6 months. I am not in such a rush, I am happy with even 20 lbs a month.
Thinking about getting majority of calories from butter and/or cream, some non-starchy vegetables and some beef/bacon/eggs.
Anyone doing keto or low carb (not as high in fat as keto)?
