Canonically, Uso and the rest are the last generation of newtypes. There won't be any born after them, and newtypes will have died out by UC200s. This persists into G-Reco, where there are no newtypes. The reasons are unknown, but the Angel Halo is a good guess as to the cause as it fucked with everyone living in the Earth Sphere. Really, it's just because Tomino had gotten tired of the concept and saw it as a distraction from the stories he really wanted to tell.
