The reason I say many and not all is because when a revolt is successful it is called a revolution.
In this case I would consider the Soviet and Maoist Revolutions as successful revolts, along with the Thirty Years War.
Even if you are looking for wealthy backers, those people only go where there is the potential for political power, and the way you display that potential is by engaging in resistance of all kinds.
