Do we get a clear idea of how the war even starts in the first FoE? I'm not far enough in my reread to have gotten to anything like that yet. That said, the Elements of Harmony and CMC being so important in the upper echelon of Equestria sorta limits the country's propensity for Day-of-the-Rake tier shenanigans. Poor Scoots isn't even able to take a second recording of her apocalypse protocol stuff so I doubt Stabletec tried to start anything.
