Thoughts on the Penguin Monarch series? I want some quick, short books on certain monarchs to give me a basic understanding before I commit to longer biographies or books. For instance, I want to know the basics about Stephen, but I don’t care enough about him yet to commit to a 400+ page book. I got the one on John, and I thought it was fine.
