This is why you buy from a reputable seller directly, or pay a bit more in a buyer focused marketplace (like eBay) where if some shit goes awry you'll deal with a bit of a hassle but for sure get your money back.
I've had multiple scams pulled on me as a buyer (mostly shipping supplies and hardware) and a seller (always Nintendo shit) on eBay and it's always easier to get shit sorted as a buyer (and if you pay with a credit card through PayPal you have two more avenues to claim a refund through).
It's been this way for over 15 years and it was way worse in the early days.
