I wouldn't be surprised, people were doom and gloom posting the shit out of Sonic Movie 3 before it came out thinking they were going to make characters like Maria black are fucking up Shadow's backstory by removing Maria entirely, it would fall in line with the writers beating expectations and not ending up making Amy a girlboss at all.
