Kubo is really funny to me sometimes. He could've easily inserted a simple moment of physical intimacy here, something as simple and platonic as Orihime putting a reassuring hand on his shoulder, or the reverse. But no, Ichigo's immediate concern after checking Orihime is fine is obviously the injured Ishida, and then he has his stupid conversation with Ulquiorra (although him not even picking up his sword is very clever, contrasting him earlier not letting go). Probably because Kubo wanted to focus on the actual important moment on the chapter, which is the failed hand reach between Ulquiorra and Orihime. What a guy.
