You're saying the uniform isn't chinky because some western military uniforms also happen to have knots and sashes with different designs.
Western uniforms use knots with more interconnected patterns, while the chinks are the ones who hang individual knots on stuff. Combine this with the random cord that just so happens to make the sash (which by itself is already different than the one on the picture you posted) look exactly like Asian sashes and nothing like any sash I've seen in any western uniform, and tell me that they didn't at least take some creative liberties to make it look chinkier.
I want you to use your eyes and tell me whether Springfield's accessories look more like the ones on the left or the ones on the right.
