Trump was told that the attack would let them negotiate with Iran from a position of power, when what it does is that it makes negotiations impossible, increasing the chance of a conflict that Israel will try to drag the US into. Exact same thing goes for the Ukrainian strike on Russian strategic aircraft, they told him that it would give Ukraine more leverage, when the only thing it did is get the avarage Russian claiming for THD.
