Yea, reminds me a bit of Tom and Sarah's relationship back in season 1 of Boondocks. They had their differences, but ultimately Sarah was super supportive of Tom. Really didn't like how they had her getting slightly interested in other guys in the later seasons. Sure, they didn't make her leave Tom, but it just felt so odd after she was so supportive and caring originally. Peg almost had that in the one episode when she and Pete go on vacation, but as I recall, she wasn't serious about leaving Pete, she just needed him to learn some humility for once.
