While I don't disagree with this being slop, look up Lest Darkness Fall by L. Sprague de Camp. We've been slopping it up for quite a while now

One of the Mesopotamian civilisations (forgot which) had a system where they pointed a thumb at a specific knuckle in the remaining fingers. Since you had 3x4 knuckles, it let them count up to a dozen.
Use two hands, and now you can do multiple dozens (a base 12 system), so up to 144 for us decimal neanderthals

You may not like hearing this but Executor is so far probably the most relevant and justified alt.
At least with him they actually did something and he's been relevant for some events and it concluded with him saving the rest of Terra from being turned into a hivemind. Other alts are just a drop and forget, with maybe a few exceptions like Lappland being set up for something and Siege might show up with a relevant role, while the rest just appear in their respective storylines every now and then, but aren't part of anything grand.

The root cause of IS5 powerscaling issue is the ability to reroll nodes with no repercussions. If anything, holding the plans needed to reroll will reward you with the ability to make King's set online very easily. All the OP bullshit in IS5, like the Lamp/Talon and Blueprint/Ingot squads hinge on that one mechanism.
Just remove that and the power curve you'll the will go down considerably

Can you elaborate what you mean by aimed at a Chinese audience? I don't see how a co-op game with no real Chinese theme is aimed specifically at a Chinese demographic. That would be something like Wukong.
I think what you mean is that it was developed by a Chinese company, which has no correlation.
