okay since you asked
The good:
There's a few neat things added that will actually help with simulating lives in this life simulation game:
The Natural Living skill seems like it'd be super useful for a homeless/rags to riches-type playthrough.
The balance/imbalance system has been neat so far, your sims can now be depressed losers with chronically poor hygiene AND the game's mechanics will support it
also there's some nice CAS and build stuff
The bad:
I don't care much about fantasy expansions in general
the aesthetic they chose for the fairies is just kinda garish and not great-looking
Innisgreen doesn't really give ireland vibes beyond base level touristy shit. see: giants causeway-esque basalt columns and gnomes as leprechaun standins though some of the streets sign props are genuinely close, just with the wrong colours. it's also sufficiently rainy and overcast.
It's another expansion with another skill that's mostly just used to encourage you to craft things, to craft MORE things, which give your sims a temporary buff
The new career is a semi-active career, so you can actually follow your sim to work. that's neat! it's using the event checklist mechanic again. that sucks!
it's another world that seems to want you to keep the default townies around for some of the side quests (thoughi haven't played around with it enough yet to be sure)
and also i'll die before i recognise "sprucederry grove" as the legitimate name for innisgreen's northern neighbourhood. where i'm from it's called DERRY GROVE
sorry for another long post
