>Push-fold criteria

>On average you get more than one Pei per round, and getting one after being tenpai can sometimes give you rinshan. This is a reason for the higher average hand values in sanma. Whether you have declared Peis or not has a big influence on push-fold judgement. Combining these with regular dora and akadora, the following is the basis you should have in mind.

> 0-1 dora = tend towards defence
> 2-3 dora = tend towards offence
> 4-5 dora = offence
> 6+ dora = push everything

>Declaring all four Pei puts a lot pressure on the other players. They will have to adjust and fold sooner. In the same vein, when faced with an opponent with three Pei declarations, make your preparations to fold sooner than usual.

>Number of tile draws

>In yonma, in a round where nobody makes any calls, the East and South position players will end up drawing 18 tiles from the wall, the others 17 each. In sanma, it's 17 plus however many Pei redraws you get. Since you mostly don't use Pei in your hand, effectively you get 17 draws. There are 28 fewer tiles, but there's also a missing player and all his draws. In the end, it balances out such that sanma basically has the same number of tile draws and turns as yonma.
