The Holy Roman Empire isn't filled with armies of beastmen, orcs, goblins, ogres, trolls, undead, and the occasional giant or dragon, nor did it have to contend with the god of die-by-aids either. Whole portions of the Empire are uninhabited by it's human population. And for good reason. The Empire stands not because of it's size populations, but because of the strength, endurance, and tenacity of it's people. People often make a note how the harsh conditions of the north make the Norscan tough, but people don't realize that the Empire is also rendered tough by its struggles.
