Why does America encourage and/or not do something about the unhealthy state of its own citizens? Surely it'd benefit it in its goal of remaining the world's only superpower to have a fit population to draft.

That's not the problem, if you want to eat poison you should be free to. The problem is that poison and seed oil is the most accessible and default option for American nutrition. Is the GDP spike from addicted consumers really worth the general health of us as a nation?
