I know this guy who is just absolutely fucking miserable in life cause of stuff like shitty relationship with parents growing up, health issues and now having to basically struggle with working some shit he doesn't want just to be able to live by himself away from his family.

The moment I even brought up the idea of God, not even as in, trying to convert him, but just as an idea that something else we were talking about, that for some people, sheer willpower can only get you so far with general stuff, like, if you try to get yourself out of miserable life situation, you could get yourself out of it through willpower alone, but, at some point, you kind of just fine in some way even then, at which point, they mind end up eventually coming to faith and relying on God to help them further.

He reacted super negatively with it, like, nearly violent and almost ready to insult me by basically saying something like:
>"Don't bring up talk about God to someone who was born with issues or has a working brain"
>"Cause then, I would prefer suicide over God just giving me a tougher battle"

Then went on a tirade about how he sees religion as just being one of two things:
>a way for people to try and explain things they don't or can't understand
>a way for people to find "strength" where they normally cant
Then also added how he seeks it as weakness to have to rely on faith to "know" whether what you're doing is bad or not or something like that and that he likes the idea of a "superhuman" who is somehow able to just achieve total, absolute strength and knowledge or whatever else by themselves alone.
