The Jews rejected their messiah, so the gentiles were grafted onto the branch of the chosen people. (That's all in the Bible.) So when the rapture happens, those who currently believe in Christ will go with Him, and the Jews will be here on Earth during the tribulation. So no, the messiah is not semantics especially since the Jews rejected Him. Jesus is the way the truth and the life.
