Russian soldiers’ remains are frequently found among the bodies of fallen Ukrainian troops returned by Russia. It’s left to the Ukrainians to sort through them, trying to tell their own from the enemy. The Putin regime shows utter disregard for its own men. The true number of Russians sacrificed in the name of Putin and his junta will likely never be known — just as we still don’t know the real number of Soviet citizens who perished in the Second World War.
