No, it actually got worse. Now you're stuck on the latest proton experimental and you can't even use the old trick which disabled anti-cheat by starting the game offline, which means wine/proton's missing kernel implementation makes the game do some pointless polling every cycle, bringing CPU performance down to shit. Stronger CPUs fair better with this but they still go to some outrageous percentage like 70%-80%.
