Nobody thinks Trump is a god. It's cope for why the guy who espouses popular policies wins. Right now, his base is raking him over the coals over Epstein, as it did with Iran and H1-Bs. Most of the base is angry with him for the slow pace of deportations and the Big Beautiful Bill pissed off pretty much everyone. He's just delivering more than he doesn't.
Compare to Obama, who basically ran Bush's third term while the media put literal halos around his head.
