I don't think he said that, but the US government was set up this way (that's why it goes 1A and then 2A). Free speech isn't a problem. People can assert whatever dumb shit they want, and other people can reject that assertion just as easily. The dangerous people are: those that want to silence or terrorize others for having bad opinions, and those that want to take absurd cases in order to prove how dangerous it is in general. Those are the two sides of censorship. It should be obvious that jews have been on both of these sides in the US.
