On the 27th, Rina Yoshikawa (38), a member of the House of Representatives representing the Sanseito Party (led by Munehei Kamiya), updated her X (formerly Twitter) account. She apologized for describing the Diet as being in a “pro wrestling state” during a street speech, saying, “I deeply regret my lack of consideration in using a metaphor involving such a noble sport built by great athletes like Mr. Antonio Inoki.”

Yoshikawa stated, “In my recent street speech, I used the expression ‘the National Diet is in a state of professional wrestling and a farce,’ which caused great discomfort and distrust among professional wrestlers, related parties, and fans who love and support professional wrestling. I sincerely apologize for this.” She explained, “The remarks were intended to raise concerns about the current state of the National Diet, where political maneuvering takes precedence over serious debate. There was no intention to disparage professional wrestling as a sport or the athletes and staff who diligently train and engage in earnest battles to bring courage and inspiration to society.”

She continued, “I deeply regret my lack of understanding of the true value of professional wrestling and my careless use of such a noble sport as a metaphor. I sincerely apologize once again.” She concluded, "I also apologize to the party members and supporters who believe in the Sanseito Party and have consistently supported us, for causing you concern, anxiety, and disappointment, and I once again apologize for that."

Finally, she concluded, “I take this criticism seriously and will strive to be more mindful of the weight of my words as a politician and to use careful language with respect for all people. I sincerely apologize for this incident.”
