They wouldn't backtrack on Firefly Seed just because of possible backlash. Gachas stick to whatever works and Firefly has enough popularity to make pushing out another character with her gimmick worth the attempt. Even if there's people who will dislike it, there will still be the entire audience of Firefly fans who will roll for Seed. Catering to an audience that you know exists is a safer play than taking a risk with doing something new.
