I buy games on steam only if the price is less than $3.00 and with that i get a perpetual cloud storage, i can sync my library with a couple of clicks on a variety of systems (windows, linux, macos) with a ready to go crossplatform configuration.

That doesn't mean though i trust steam fullstop, in fact i have a local storage with all my games (pirated) as a collateral in case something shitty happens.
