The people who say this are either unaware or conspire to hide that what was called a jew 2000 years ago and what is called a jew now are different creatures. They're also incorrect as Jesus Christ is who is being worshipped (God in the flesh), not a person, not their image, and certainly not an ethnicity.

I do not believe this is true, but it doesn't really matter, that race has ceased to exist following the annihilation of Jerusalem, they either were killed off or mixed out, similar to the other "lost tribes", the new testament places no great emphasis on ancestry, and therefore genetics.
But it's ambivalent towards loving your people, it isn't against it. Unfortunately, this ambivalence has been utilized in the negative for the past 70 years, it can easily be used in the positive.
