Oh man, go read the immigration platforms of Labor from the election before last, they didn't mention anything even remotely like what they actually *did* when they got into power. Policies mean nothing, it's all bullshit, we are ruled by a shadowy oligarchy spreading across the globe, that's what the Epstein shit is all about.
In fact last time we had a politician that even remotely tried to stand up to the USA (Rudd), he was removed in a palace coup, but he believed in "big Australia" policies and that's cringe, still, if it was him or who came after he was a better option.

Kinda, they frequently ask for nations to take their excess population for "trade deals", and since they're totally foreign and from a culture that accepts awful hierarchy, it breaks up unions and anything that allows worker solidarity (I mean that term in the sense from before progressive idiots ruined it).
